"Hooghly Dreaming" is a mixed media art series by AJ Paris. The series is based on photography shot on the river of the same name in Kolkata, India. Number from 1 to 10, these ten images represent a beautiful memory in one of the most interesting settings in the world. Kolkata is India's original capital, long before the British made their capital in Delhi. The river, named after a town not far from Kolkata, is both holy and useful. The locals call the river bhāgirathi, a name that connects it to Bhagiratha, a handsome prince whose devotion to Shiva caused the river to be released to our planet.
